Azin Ziashahabi: The Journey from Scientist to Entrepreneur

After more than a decade in advanced R&D, Azin recently took a bold leap to follow a dream three years in the making: transitioning from a scientist to a tech entrepreneur. In this talk, Azin will share her personal story of co-leading a new, early-stage deep-tech venture in Denmark. Pulling back the curtain on the messy, rewarding reality of the earliest stages of entrepreneurship, she will share how she uncovered her true career path and stayed resilient through years of challenges without ever giving up.

Azin is a materials scientist with a PhD in nanotechnology who moved to Denmark in 2021, contributing to R&D at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and later joining Novo Nordisk as an analytical scientist. Driven by the belief that deep science can reshape industries, she will offer honest insights for early-career STEM professionals on how to navigate major career pivots, put their ideas forward, and maintain the grit required to chase their professional dreams.
