Lyngby welcomes internationals

Much more knowledge and sense of belonging

Whether you are an international student, spouse or employee you most likely wish to increase your sense of belonging – grow your network, make friends and be part of the local community.

Key representatives from Lyngby introduced some of the many local treasures at the morning meeting: Welcome Day at the city Town Hall.

Kasper Graa Wulff from Lyngby-Taarbæk Kommune shared 15 tips on interesting places to visit at the heart of Danish industry – The National Museum in Brede, the beautiful village Taarbæk at the seaside, Dyrehaven – historically known to attract the The Royals and the elite. A lung of green and the home of many deers. Additionally now a Unescos World Heritage site.

Michael Knørr Skov shared insights on COWI ’s innovative projects in Denmark and abroad. Kristian Nielsen from Lyngby Tennis Club invited everyone to join the clubs OPEN DAY September 23th at 5 pm.

Lise Roest-Madsen from Lyngby Library invited all internationals to join the events and book clubs at the library. For instance ‘Books & Good Company’ November 11th.

Ian Rutt from Lyngby International Choir invited everyone who loves singing to participate at Lundtofte Church. And Trine Bøgh Barnholdt gave vital information on how to start your own association – but also an insight into the many associations/foreninger, that already exists and will welcome newcomers with open arms.

The event was finalized by an exclusive tour of the city Town Hall guided by Lyngby’s Mayor Sofia Osmani, who also included the Mayor’s office, the beautiful meeting room for the counsil, the amazing open staircase and the sharp architecture of the Town Hall build in 1941.

Many applauses to all participants, speakers and our excellent moderator Lee Millen.
